Vor allem ab dem 9. Jh. tauchen arabische Bibelübersetzungen auf. Welche Gemeinden übersetzten sie und was sagen uns die erhaltenen Manuskripte über die Verbreitung und Benutzung der arabischen Bibel?
Einblicke in die Welt der Bibel auf Arabisch gibt uns Prof. Dr. Ronny Vollandt, Professor für Judaistik am Institut für den Nahen und Mittleren Osten der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.

Im 9. Jh. werden zahlreiche Werke ins Arabische übersetzt, darunter griechische Philosophen. Der Gelehrte al-Kindī treibt solche Übersetzungen nicht nur voran, sondern versucht die griechischen Quellen u.a. für die islamische Theologie fruchtbar zu machen.
Al-Kindīs Leben, Werk und Erbe beleuchtet für uns Prof. Dr. Peter Adamson, der den Lehrstuhl für spätantike und arabische Philosophie an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München leitet. Peter Adamson macht außerdem den Podcast History of Philosophy without any gaps und hat auch eine Folge über al-Kindī.
